Industry Experience

Terry Kirkham brings nearly four decades of dual expertise in professional auctioneering and asset valuation. His career began in 1986 as a trainee valuer and auctioneer serving insolvency practitioners, banks, and government agencies. By 1988 he became a fully licensed auctioneer, and in 1992 a Certified Practising Valuer, establishing a foundation that combined analytical valuation discipline with the fast-paced reality of live sales. Over the years, Terry has specialised in industrial, commercial and retail equipment, vehicles, transport, and intellectual property assets—earning a reputation for his practical, hands-on understanding of value and market behaviour.

In 1993, he founded his own firm, Kirkhams Asset Solutions, pioneering a full-service model for business asset realisation. This evolved into Global Business Auctioneers & Valuers, where as Managing Director he has led thousands of asset dispositions and valuations across Australia and internationally. His firm’s record of achieving multimillion-dollar outcomes for insolvency, banking, and corporate clients reflects both business acumen and industry trust. Today, Global stands as a benchmark for ethical and results-driven asset management practice.

Parallel to his corporate work, Terry has built a national profile as a live auctioneer and Master of Ceremonies. For more than 15 years, he has been a headline performer at charity galas and sporting events, blending professional showmanship with community service. His ability to engage crowds and inspire generosity has raised significant funds for charities and community causes across Australia.

Terry’s professional standing is reinforced by his qualifications, memberships, and the confidence placed in him by peers and clients alike. He has been a Certified Practising Valuer since 1992, a licensed auctioneer since 1988, and a member of the Auctioneers and Valuers Association of Australia (AVAA). He has undertaken professional training with the American Society of Appraisers and holds a Business Diploma, complementing his technical expertise with a strong grasp of commercial governance.

His firm undergoes regular audits by the AVAA and the Queensland Office of Fair Trading—recognition of his commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards. Across nearly forty years, Terry has built enduring partnerships with leading insolvency firms, banks, and government departments, who consistently engage his services for his integrity, efficiency, and results. His media appearances and frequent invitations as a charity auctioneer and MC further attest to the respect he commands in both professional and public arenas.

Industry Training

Beyond commercial success, Terry Kirkham has devoted much of his career to mentoring and knowledge sharing. Within his firm, he trains and guides junior valuers and auctioneers, embedding ethical practice and precision. He uses each client engagement as a learning platform—educating stakeholders on valuation rationale, sale strategy, and market insight.

His influence extends beyond business into community education, where he leverages his auction-stage presence and media experience to engage, inform, and inspire. For over two decades he has volunteered as a charity auctioneer, guiding committees and donors through philanthropic bidding. His additional qualification as an AFC “A”-licence soccer coach reflects a lifelong dedication to mentoring and skill development in every field he enters—an enduring hallmark of his contribution as an Industry Professor.
